Some of my favorite images I’ve created are of a mother and child. There’s something beautiful and emotionally compelling about those images; a reminder of how we all come into this world, and the bond that we share with the person who brought here. Infants can be a special challenge to shoot, but the results are worth it–preserving memories of that time in a child’s life is priceless. Here’s a few from a recent shoot…

January 20, 2010Lori and Brad | WEDDING-Missoula
November 1, 2009Everything about Lori and Brad’s wedding was great…and if I could only use one word to describe it, that would be STYLE! Everything came together so perfectly on this one…the location, the flowers, all the little details, and of course their outfits, which were just fantastic. Everyone really looked great! It was also another case of just how small Montana can really be…I had no idea who the couple was when I got the initial inquiry, so it was a really fun surprise when I met them–Brad is an old friend of mine who used to work with me at KPAX channel 8 years ago. It was great catching up with them, it’s been years since we’ve seen each other.
I had the pleasure of working with Thea from Random Task Engineer, who did all their planning. Thea was great, and did a fantastic job giving them a wedding that really fit them as a couple. The wedding and reception were at Heritage Hall, in Missoula. Congratulations, you’re off to a great start!

Haloween Special | Haunted Museum
October 31, 2009A while back I had a unique offer to go on a ghost hunt in the historic century old Ravalli County Museum with the team from Hawk Paranormal Scientific Investigations. The museum itself is an amazing piece of architecture, designed by the famed Montana architect A.J. Gibson in 1900, and it served as the county courthouse until 1979 when it was replaced by the current one. It has a huge second story courtroom with an 18 foot tall ceiling, tons of wood accents, and large arched windows. It’s not every day I get this kind of unique opportunity for photography, so I was pretty excited to get the after hour tour. According to the investigators, there’s been plenty of reports of hauntings over the years…everything from doors closing randomly, to voices that didn’t belong there. So, what about my visit? Was it spooky? YES! Did I see anything paranormal? No…but it was a lot of fun, and I got a chance to make some interesting images there. Pretty much everything I shot was in almost total darkness, which made it even more challenging. Happy Halloween!
Here’s the lead investigator himself…thanks again for the tour!
By far the spookiest part of the entire building is the basement..it’s got a dirt floor and the original walls made from cut stone blocks. Down here is where the museum stores it’s display mannequins, which makes it SUPER CREEPY!!
